I’m pretty sure that all of us have struggled with or are struggling with wanting to control everything in life. Most of my life I thought that all my planning, worrying and fighting to control all the variables will lead me to success. We are the creators of our destiny but we can’t control everything that happens. With time I realized that I could not force the universe into giving me what I wanted as everything did not turn out the way that I wanted it to be. The harder I fought for something to happen, the more miserable I became by thinking and worrying too much. The weight of control is heavy and it drains you. I became so busy fighting to get a specific outcome that I forgot to enjoy the journey. I realized there is a power in trusting a higher power and believing in energies that put you on a better path in life.
Surrendering to the universe doesn’t mean that you think about something and let the universe do things for you, it’s about doing everything you can and putting in your effort to the highest potential to trust that everything will work out in it’s own way. It is about believing in yourself you so much that you know everything will work out for the best and that you are capable to handle anything. This is when you start to enjoy the present and let things slowly unfold for you with time. Surrendering is not about wishing for the universe to magically deliver for you or about giving up. Surrendering is about trusting that the universe has got your back and the energy you believe in will eventually guide you.
I strongly believe in a higher power because I do know for a fact that energies exist in this world. Science validates that energies exist in this world and different cultures show this in different forms. I chose to believe in things wholeheartedly and set the actions to get things done. I would work on my efforts with positive intentions and let that path that unfolds me to help me move forward. I stopped thinking the negative things that could happen and believe strongly in my efforts and this led me to see the movement in a positive way. If something didn’t work out, I started to choose to see the reasons for why it didn’t happen and learn to redirect my energy to making the situation better. This made me gain immense willpower in life. It made me feel strong knowing that there is a higher power behind me and that I will be able to handle anything moving forward.
I also learned to basically look around for signs that help me make decisions and usher me to the next step. It is about looking for clues and noticing them according to what we want to align in our life. This will eventually lead you from one step to another that allows new doors to open for you. It is a process and it has to do a lot about your belief. Sometimes when I do feel like things are going chaotic and anxiety is taking over, I choose to think about how grateful I am for the things I already have. Gratitude also forces us to believe in the better of things happening as it makes us appreciate the things we have rather than focusing on what we lack. It reminds us of the things we have already achieved and this can be a great support system on a bad day.
One thing that I started doing personally in my life since the last few years was creating lists. I have a To Do list and a Wish List in my notes app on my iphone. The To Do list is a list where I write down all the things I have to do in life work life and personal life. I write down tasks and goals. I write down the dates of when I have to finish some tasks. This helps me feel very structured and organized. I also create flow charts and brainstorm my goals. I like to see the first step rather than the whole staircase in reaching my goals. I write down the first step I need to do to reach where I wanna be and work my way from there. It is amazing to see how when you start with one step and work on it, the next step unfolds in front of you. You need to notice the signs and act on them and keep moving forward and eventually you will reach to the top. My Wish List is a list of all the things I wanna buy materialistically. Every time I tick off something I wished for, it feels great. It motivates me to work harder. All these practices made me a person who is ready to fight any problems that are thrown at me. It increased my willpower and patience which allowed me to move forward in my life with a strong determination.
